I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty in Feb 2016
Interview
Walked in to apply and a very enthusiastic employee informed me to apply online. I applied online and waited one week and called to let them know I was interested. Called back two days later, was informed I did not have an application in. I say I will resubmit so that I can come in for an interview. Half way through re-applying, called again and told my application was found. Scheduled the interview for the next day. I arrive for my interview and was told the manager was behind and would be with me soon - no problem. Manager finds me 15 minutes later and takes me to the back room for the interview. Someone is there so I am taken to the 'color station' - WHERE TWO WOMEN WERE GETTING THEIR HAIR DONE. I was uncomfortable and felt this was very unprofessional. Interview consisted of one question and an explanation of the job. Very awkward manager. Thanked her for the interview at the close and go to shake her hand, she looks offended and says she will walk me to the door. Overall just a negative experience.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Austin, TX) in Sep 2015
Interview
I met with the general manager first and she asked simple management questions then I met with the district manager another day. Make sure you dress business casual in all black and a good amount of makeup (don't forget the lipstick, trust me) so they know you're prepared for the job.

Interview
Extremely easy, I, at first, was a seasonal employee but they kept me on throughout the year. They are so desperate for people around the holidays you could bomb your interview and they would still hire you. I even overheard a manager (who is no longer there) that even if someone has a terrible interview to hire them anyway and they can just get rid of them after the holidays are over.
