I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at The Body Shop (Vancouver, BC) in Dec 2014
Interview
The interview began rather awkwardly because I shared the same name as the interviewer and its a rather uncommon name. When the workers called her name I actually responded to them out of habit so it started rather badly. During the roleplay for sales the interviewer actually wandered away to answer a phone call and I was interviewed by a worker. I was to market the tea tree products and I regret not researching it thoroughly because I only knew that it was good for blemishes, good for people with dry skin and that it came from tea trees. She asked me "What is exactly tea tree oil?" and I regret not doing more research about the product. Other than the extremely hard roleplaying the rest of the interview was just the generic questions that you get at any other retail shop.

Why should we hire you?
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Body Shop (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2013
Interview
After dropping off my resume in-store, I didn't expect to be contacted at all. I was called less than one week later by the manager, who asked me for an interview. I did a second one about two weeks later with the assistant manager, which consisted of pretend-selling a product to her after she told me about it to see how well I'd do. The second one was to see if the assistant manager liked me, too.
After the second interview I was asked to apply online, and within the week I was hired.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Body Shop in Oct 2013
Interview
The day after I applied online, I was called in for an interview for the next day by one of the managers. I arrived a bit early and was told that another person had been called in to interview at the same time, and would I mind waiting just a little while for them to arrive? I waited and chatted with the assistant manager to learn more about the store and their products. When the other applicant arrived, we were asked a series of questions, and then given a product to demonstrate our abiity to not only recall information, but to convey it back to a potential customer. all in all, the actual interview took about an hour, maybe less. At the end of the week, I received a call back to complete the paperwork necessary to start work.
