I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at New York Life
Interview
The process involves 4 steps, I took only 2, then I decided to stop.
First interview is 1:1 and, in my opinion, the person try to understand if you are able to guarantee a minimum level of presentation.
The second appointment was a meeting with about 20 candidates, it lasts about 3 hours with 3 different stages:
1. NYL presentation: Who we are and what we did in the past for the US
2. Salary and compensation presentation: What you will sell and how much you will gain from the selling
3. Training: NYL will provide you with all the skills needed to succeed in the process, from the client search to the client retention.
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (San Francisco, CA) in May 2015
Interview
There were three interviews. The first one was consists of a personality test and a take-home questionnaire. The second one asked me to take home another booklet and questionnaires for family and friends. The third one I was offered the position.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at New York Life (New York, NY) in Oct 2014
Interview
Very efficient. Only made it to phone interview. Basically behavioral questions and some questions about resume. The interviewer was a student and was very nice. She asked me to tell her about myself and why I wanted to be an actuary.
