I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at New York Life (Melville, NY) in Jul 2017
Interview
They promise you the world and tell you how you’ll make $70,000 easy in your first year. What they dont tell you is how its all and you to get your own clients and if you dont produce you dont make any money
Three rounds of interviews. All three in the main office where I was interviewing. I was working with the same interviewer for all three rounds. Very nice experience though and my interviewer was great.
I applied online. I interviewed at New York Life (Montgomery, AL) in Apr 2021
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter that saw my application for a "Manager" position with a set salary of $80,000. She asked if I'd like to move to a formal interview later in the week and I agreed. She told me to dress to impress her because she is someone I definitely wanted to impress. Seemed a little odd but I just laughed and said I'd be dressed professionally and appropriately. After speaking with a few colleagues they told me the job didn't sound as though it had been accurately described in the listing as most of these types of positions are "fast-track" programs and commissioned based. I sent an email just asking for clarification of the title and salary. The response I received was completely unprofessional. She asked if I'd ever worked for someone where performance was not expected and if I had concerns about betting on myself then she should too. I politely declined the interview and can't say I would recommend anyone interview for this position.
