I went into the interview with very high expectations but came out disappointed. I was interviewed in conjunction with another applicant, but very few questions were asked in relation to my experience. The main focus seemed to be on the math test. I selected the test that seemed most suitable as someone very proficient in advanced mathematics. The presentation of the questions, the frustration of rote examination, and the uncomfortable environment (behind me were two employees not allowing a child to move in his seat and forcing him to make direct focus with the paper) turned me away from even considering a job at Kumon.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Kumon (Austin, TX)
Interview
Quick and simple overall. 30 minute interview that reviewed experience in tutoring subject. Helps if you are a student there first. Reading or math are the primary requested subjects to tutor
It was the standard questions you'd expect for an interview. Like why I was interested, what experience I had working with kids, what I would react if someone misbehaves, etc
