I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Intuitive (Sunnyvale, CA) in Jul 2021
Interview
I was contacted by the Executive Recruiter very promptly after I applied online. He did a great job explaining the role and answering all of my questions. He also did a wonderful job addressing any sticking points upfront and showed a willingness to find a way to make things work for both parties.
I had an initial zoom interview with the hiring manager and subsequent interviews with various team members (a total of ~5 hours of interviews with a total of 8 people). The interview process and schedule was very well organized and clearly communicated. I received an offer 8 days after my final interview. The interview process was very smooth and communication was great from my the initial conversation to the time I signed the offer!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions were centered around how my past work experience and working relationships would help me be successful in this role. All of the interviewers showed genuine interest in me as a candidate and they asked thoughtful questions that allowed me to speak to my strengths and what I could bring to the table.
Thank you so much for writing this review of your interview experience with us. We are excited that you have decided to join our company in such an important role. Thank you again and welcome to the Intuitive family.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Intuitive (San Jose, CA) in Aug 2021
Interview
Sourcer reached out to me on LinkedIn (since I currently work at a competitor) about a position within their Ion Team (That is supposedly their new product) , then a phone call with the recruiter, another phone call with hiring manager and then zoom interiew for half a day with the whole team.
Super rude first call with the hiring manager who acted in a condescending way and acted like " I am super smart , I know everything " throughout the phone call and interrupted every 15 seconds to "correct" me. That was the first red flag.
He then scheduled a second interview with the whole team (Ops, Quality etc) and they seemed pretty stressed and worked up. One of the interviewers even asking me how do you deal with stress coz this is a very stressful place with deadlines supposedly telling me that Ion is a "startup" within a large company and was told to be expected to come on weekends rather than a hybrid work from home policy in my current company. (2nd red flag)
Then the third and the final flag, Last interview of the day was scheduled with hiring manager and one other person, but the hiring manager didnt even bother logging into the zoom call and showing up to the interview. (Never experienced such kind of rudness before, at least have a courtesy to inform if you cant make it) So I ended up talking to other person for the whole 45 minutes and even he found it weird. He probably had already selected someone, as I promptly received a rejection email within a couple of hours (fastest feedback ever)
I would strongly recommend staying clear with anything related to do with their Ion Team. Although have heard that things arent bad on the Da Vinci Team.
