I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Golden Valley, MN) in Oct 2019
Interview
Brief phone interview with HR, followed by a lengthier phone interview with Dept. head, followed by three separate face-to-face interviews with more Dept. heads. They scrutinize their prospects very closely, but the good side to this is that they hire good people, who are serious about making GM their home, not people who are looking to just make it a brief employment stop while on their way through their careers.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at General Mills (Columbus, OH)
Interview
Met the recruiter at a campus career fair, applied through Handshake, and was offered an interview a few days later. They asked many behavioral questions, but also some technical questions. You could tell they were looking for interns who were not afraid to reach out and ask their co-workers for help. The technical questions were simple- they just want to see you use logic and reasoning to answer their questions
