I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at GLG (Austin, TX) in Nov 2013
Interview
There were five over the phone interviews (one screening with HR and one to review case study) as well as five in person interviews (including a lunch or breakfast interview). They typically pair you with two Research professionals during the lunch or breakfast interview, usually from different teams (Corporate, PSF, or NAFS) as they are determining which, if any, would be a good fit. Typically one interview with the head of the department as well.

Question 1
Typical STAR questions and also determining good fit based on previous background. Constant questions about the business model and what you expect to be doing in the role.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at GLG (Austin, TX)
Interview
Basically what everyone said below me is true. It is an extremely lengthy process that for me took over 6 weeks, and ended without a job. I did the two 30-minute interviews with someone in their office in New York and in Austin, I then did the case study (finished it early), talked with a manager for 30 minutes about the case study, and then went to their office here in Austin for a 3 hours worth of interviews. All the managers seemed to really like me, and the last one I interviewed with said I would know by the end of that week if I got an offer. I interviewed on Wednesday so I should've heard back by that Friday, and next thing I know it's a week later and I still don't hear anything back. I write a follow up e-mail to the HR department to see what is up, and still nobody contacts me or responds (incredibly frustrating). Finally, over a week and a half later from when I was supposed to know whether or not I received an offer, I got a vague email saying my qualifications didn't meet the needs of the position?? If they weren't met in the first place, don't waste my time for 6 weeks for interviews that would lead nowhere.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at GLG (New York, NY)
Interview
I completed a phone interview and two video interviews before interviewing in person at the NYC office in 1-on-1 interviews with several members of the GLG HR team. Each person with whom I interviewed (from phone to in-person) asked the same resume-based questions, which started to feel like a waste of time considering they could have shared notes or joined into earlier calls. I completed a timed technical assignment during the in-person interview, which was closely related to the work that the role would be doing.
Communication throughout the process overall was spotty. There were long gaps between communication, from the time I applied to the time I was first contacted and then after completing each interview step. The timelines messaged at the end of each interview weren't honored, and I had to follow-up each time to get an update about next steps. I know the team that I was interviewing with was short-staffed at the time, so I hope my interview experience was a result of that rather than being the norm.
The primary interviewers told me more than once that they were concerned about hiring someone from out of state, which raised flags for me about potential hiring biases. That said, I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt that the final decision was made based off of fairer factors such as technical or cultural fit.
