Interview
The interview process is not transparent & ridiculously lengthy. It involves assignments, online tests including the most irrelevant ccat, then they give you fake offer only to throw couple of more tests but this time proctored. The proctored ones are really invasive ones where they ask you to not only have video call & screen share but also to have another camera to show them 360 of your surroundings & then point it towards yourself during the test. Proctored tests are repetition of online tests but of course monitored by a person live. the most ridiculous of all is the CCAT which has nothing to do with software engineering & in general nothing to do with IQ, skills or otherwise. Problem with today's timed & so called tough interviews is that they don't assess a possible candidate but if the candidate can somehow clear their version of human. Humans by design are not meant to solve problems in an instant. That's what computers are for. So assess a human not some machine.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Crossover for Work in Feb 2021
Interview
Interview process was tedious with series of online assignments in stages. There was coding interview, English proficiency test, technical write-up, Database designing questions, technical decision making questions, aptitude test etc.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were three personal interviews, none of them ask any significant question. They just wanted me to explain the same technical write-up which I submitted during one of the online assignments. It seemed that they already decided not to hire me before conducting interview. It was waste of time totally. Crossover has a lot of online assessment in stages and last couple of personal interviews. HR was not even bothered to share the feedback of interviews or what went wrong. One would have no clue after the interview.

Interview
1- ccat: 50 questions in 15 minutes. they seek about 42+ correct. can be practiced, and since the test is run by a 3rd party you can see some of the actual questions elsewhere
2- english: they used to ask you to record yourself, but now there is a different test - you have to repeat sentences that they read out loud to you. some of the sentences are long and use difficult vocabulary. again, practice, and find ways to improve. there is no 2nd chance. again, this is a 3rd party test, so find it.
3- programming test. yet another 3rd party exam. you are given a few problems and need to code. any language. this part is actually fun.
4- "real work": they will give you some description of a real task they faced recently and ask you to do the job. this is where you can learn how your work will look like. it is time consuming and probably highly biased process.
5 - interview: 1 or 2 zoom interviews.
6 - if you get this far, you have to retake ccat and coding exams, this time with someone watching you.
