I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Crate and Barrel (Arlington, VA) in Aug 2014
Interview
I attended a large hiring event where you showed up and were interviewed on-site. Everyone was pushed through interviewers like an assembly line. I realized quickly through interviewing that their retail positions are actually commission-driven, which I was not keen on so the interview fell flat after that, it just wasn't what I was looking for.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Crate and Barrel in Oct 2017
Interview
I applied online and received an email from the HR coordinator about 2 weeks later. I scheduled a phone interview with the talent acquisition recruiter and the hiring manager for the following week. Promptly after the phone interview, I received an email from the recruiter to set up a second video interview, since I was living in a different state at the time. I completed the video interview with the recruiter, hiring manager, and department director and received a phone call from the recruiter immediately afterwards with an offer. Overall, communication was great throughout the process and the fast pace of the process was very unlike my experience with other companies.

Question 1
How have you been able to develop trusting relationships with store operations partners?

Interview
I had a telephone interview and on a Friday at 3pm. I later was told never do an interview after noon time on a Friday.
The recruiter seemed to be asking questions right off a form piece of paper and had little interest in my responses. I finished and thought ‘why would I want to work for this company’ and also understood why there were so many open positions!
