Pros

I was the assistant store manager for 6+ months. It was amazing to have creative freedom (which they control more now). We were a tight knit group of girls - only 6 or 7 employees. The only good thing is they ate the fines on holidays when our mall wanted us open. They value family time over holidays - that's about it.

Cons

The company expanded way too fast and the management structure is understaffed and unreliable. For my first 3 months we didn't have a store manager or a district manager. We were operating solely on a regional manager who oversaw 5 states for operation. The training is next to none, they believe in a "trial by fire" sort of training. Give you a day and a half of training and then throw you out there to run a store. Benefits are expensive and do not offer great coverage. Their LP is a joke. You can't call the cops, mall security, you can't confront them - even if you are 100% sure you saw them. They don' prosecute - security cameras in the stores are fake. I know we had employee theft, but with their LP policy, all that would happen is someone would lose their job, and that was it. The company really needs to beef up it's corporate management before they continue to open more stores. Their HR policies are lacking any solidity, it's easy to find loopholes in anything and everything. Overall, this company is a joke. Great job for a college student looking to expand their horizons and add to a resume (turnover is super high, easy to get a manager job) but in the real world, this is not a desirable job. Store managers are salary and will regularly have to work 50+ hours in a week.

Stressful, even for just BAs...

Pros

I work here part-time during the semester and over the summer. At first I thought it was going to be fun. The discount is okay for BAs, it's only 30% but if you put that much stress on your workers to sell the stuff you might as well make them able to afford it! Things here are overpriced and sometimes not even worth it. I would say I'm good at "selling" and fulfilling the promise of the company, but management is too pushy on it's team... I mean, we're just people we're not superhero's and we can't replenish and sell and do the cash-wrap all at the same time for just minimum wage... I really hate that the pay is so low for just BAs... I know this is just a boutique, but if you ask for a lot of work don't expect good work for minimum wage.

Cons

Another thing... our district manager was just really stressful to be around. Honestly, nobody likes her and she just makes things stressful/hostile in the workplace. I don't understand why she was in our store in the first place she just made everyone uncomfortable, it's like you can't move an inch without her criticizing your work. She, herself, is not a perfect human-being so how does she expect us to be. I feel like she had an advantage just because she is the district manager. She was allowed to be on her phone and she was allowed to be in the back, but when it came to everyone else... NO. The amount of pressure that this certain District Manager put on Boutique Managers, Assistant Boutique Managers, and Key-holders was TOO MUCH! So if our bosses were stressed that also stressed out the boutique assistants. First of all... don't be mad at the people working in the stores when they don't make their day, second of all... don't ask what they were doing the day before... like goodness gracious... They didn't make their day, it doesn't mean that they aren't doing their job... STOP FORCING THEM TO MAKE PEOPLE BUY STUFF... it's rude and inconsiderate and you're not delighting your guest... you're making them uncomfortable.

Francesca's promise doesn't work

Pros

30% discount on entire store, fun atmosphere, cute clothes and jewelry, nice girls

Cons

The "Francesca's promise" was put into place to increase sales but is instead driving employees away; no commission or incentives to sell, yet push selling to the point where it's overbearing for customers. Cheesy compliments and following them around the store..
