Pros

-Good money, great product to sell, clients are often great to work with -High Growth -Unlimited PTO

Cons

-Upper management is fine, direct management is EXTREMELY toxic. Doesn't give helpful feedback but it feels like direct management is trying to sabotage us -Multiple times had meetings with my direct manager before a demo and got railed which in turn negatively affected my performance in my Demo -They don't care about your mental health at all, say goodbye to days off before the end of the month -Bethesda team is SO toxic, they clearly are competing with the Boston team and put so much pressure on us -If you value your mental health in your workplace at all, I would not take a job at this company

Hi and thanks for taking the time to share your experience. I wanted to respond to this review because mental health is a topic that I take very seriously. I think as salespeople, we all experience certain emotional peaks and troughs that come with the job. However, the job should never jeopardize your mental wellbeing. At ZoomInfo, we have a competitive sales floor because we genuinely want to see all of our reps succeed, and we would never try to sabotage anyone – that would adversely impact the entire team and our results. I’m very sorry to hear that this is how you felt. I know that sometimes differences in communication styles can be a barrier to meaningful growth conversations, which is why we’re enrolling our sales managers in Leadership skills training, which covers constructive feedback and positive motivational techniques. We’re very conscious of our employees’ full well-being, including mental and emotional health. We have free Talkspace memberships for those enrolled in our benefits, and our Employee Assistance Program offers 24/7 phone support for all employees and their families, regardless of if they are enrolled in our benefits. Thank you again for taking the time to leave feedback, and I wish you all the best. – Patrick Valle, ZoomInfo Senior Director of Sales

Pros

The company has a great product. That’s where the accolades end.

Cons

The politics, the hypocrisy and the lack of compassion towards team members. For example, a VP was fired over Christmas and our team sat through countless meetings about changes but not once did they ever speak the former-VP’s name, announce to us that they were let go or offer any kind words about their time at the company. It was like they had disappeared that leader and pretended they never existed. That executive was replaced with a new leader with zero experience in the field. The general consensus among the team was that the C-suite hired someone who would follow directions, not push back. Once, we received an email from the CEO explaining that if we wanted to do well, we’d need to put in long hours. The whole email made it clear that he expected us to work outside of our 9-5 for success. It was framed as being a Red Sox player, not a Pirate. Little did we know, that would foreshadow a host of layoffs, all of which had no basis in performance. These layoffs were enacted after months of direct managers telling us not to worry about losing our jobs. The people let go ranged from directors to managers to individual contributors. The biggest reason for this review is the way those layoffs were handled. No one was told what was going on, the fact that this was a restructure was never mentioned to the people being fired. Now, months later, they are re-hiring for the same roles they terminated a few months back. Bottom-line: ZoomInfo does not care about it’s people, they care about getting what they need in the moment and moving on with no remorse once they change course. Don’t drink the KoolAid.

Pros

At Zoominfo the pay is fairly good, especially when enriched with equity. Some of the workers (it's a fairly heterogeneous mix) are quite intelligent and fun to engage with.

Cons

The company is on a wild acquisition spree, and what it seems to do when it buys a company is create a department around it. In the case of the one I'm in, the teams are highly disorganized, seem to spend over half the time on bug fixes, and there's vast disarray in back-end systems (scatter in terms of tech stack because of lack of cohesion in skillsets, very poor quality legacy and new code, data problems left and right, etc.). There can also be political pushback against fixing the issues that already exist. As an overall company, it's also quite disorganized and with apparent intention to keep it that way, as they gobble up smaller companies at a fast pace.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on what it’s like to work at ZoomInfo. We pride ourselves on creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace for all colleagues. We’ve worked to increase the diversity of our employee population, and have also set diversity goals for our leadership to ensure our efforts continue to develop. We also have a comprehensive Compensation Equity program which ensures we are compensating our colleagues fairly across the board. ZoomInfo is certainly expanding. We have had two acquisitions so far this year, which have presented growing pains along the way. However, we are working hard to systemize and create processes across the company to help our colleagues stay organized and empowered to do their jobs. We are focused on building a complete go-to-market strategy for our customers, and tackling the challenges that present along the way through ingenuity, creativity, and hiring the best and brightest talent available in the market. We are taking your advice into consideration and thank you for your transparency. If you have any additional comments or questions, please contact hrfeedback@zoominfo.com. -The ZoomInfo Employee Experience Team
