The big one: slow pay. Another reviewer in a role like mine said as much, and I wanted to add my two cents here, as well. I've worked with Zoo Digital for a fairly long time as a freelancer, and they used to pay within the 45 days set down in the contract. At some point in recent history, that stopped. Now, it may be a result of Covid, which hit the entertainment world pretty hard, but fact of the matter is that they've so far not bothered to communicate this to the rest of us. Payments just stopped coming at some point, where I had an invoice six months overdue. That was late 2024. Since then, I've made sure to poke them about every single damn invoice that's overdue, and I always get the same cookie-cutter reply: they'll poke Finance, thank you for your patience, etc. What I do know is that Finances was in a bit of a shambles for a while and, according to what they told me, they're working on it and it'll take time.
The thing that got to me is that, when I asked one of the project managers for the email address of HR so I could escalate this myself, they couldn't even tell me. It seems they don't have anyone to contact, either, except for their general manager? It's all very unclear. I understand things have probably been hard for Zoo, but management should communicate this to the people who've been working for them for years, instead of counting on our goodwill without giving us anything in return. If possible, I'll update this review with any additional findings.
