Pros

Worked in YEX for close to 10 years. Good colleagues around, some bosses are willing to step up to assist the team members. Challenging work especially for O&G industry.

Cons

Expect to work long working hours, Low pay increment, if your boss is a racist counterpart then be prepared that you might get sacrificed some day, no one to reign in the attendance especially for colleagues who tends to fly around frequently and not showing up in office and sometimes will make you wonder if that person is really working, got take proper leave via HR or just don't care to turn up. Too frequent changing of Japan head and directions given to the staffs from top down approach is not clear. If your boss is an Indian, be prepared that all your team will be all men and/or Indians very soon. Don't see the balance of working ratio of foreigners vs Singaporeans especially in the department working in. Work allocation is not fair, if you are capable you will be assigned to do more than the one who seems not so capable but they get paid higher than you, in a way...

Pros

Traveling to Japan Company paid dinners Making new friends Working for a Japanese company

Cons

IT cripples the company HR is a total joke. They don't care about the wellbeing of their employees. Office is absolutely brutal. Pretty much stare at the clock waiting for the day to end. The company's 10 year plan is crippling. Locks the company into longterm plans that to keep up with the market. Hard to expand skills while the company creeps along.
