Pros

Managment team are professionals with the best interest of YPO at heart.

Cons

Recent changes at the board and executive level have created total chaos/confusion, lack of trust, a 2 class system with complete constipation in the decision making process. Somehow the wisdom of the board thought that taking out the CEO and replacing him with 5 YPO members (called the OMD) for making decisions was going to streamline the decision process. What a joke!! The result has been NO decisions are being made and for any decision that is made, it is void of any subject matter expertise because the members are not close enough to how things are done to understand the implications of their decisions. This is a classic case of the board and committee chairs (all members) don’t know what they don’t know AND have systemically changed the working model from being collaborative with management to implementing a management team mandate that is to “take orders.”Period! This has been said out loud to management. So sad to see great talent being wasted. We can thank the global chairman from FY 23-24 for the change to a toxic work environment. His impact could ultimately destroy what once was so great about YPO.

Chaos, Egos, and No Future

Pros

The associates, but this is not where the investment is made. Most associates are smart, driven, striving for better, and wanting to make a difference. There are other associates that hold on for dear life as this is all they know.

Cons

The board, the chairman(s), and the champion structure - these create chaos and a playground for egos to compete and destroy one another. The lack of integrity is astonishing. Many members are not real CEOs but overly privileged, spoiled men that still undermine women and anyone that is not a rich, white male, especially in the US. This is a place that fosters misogyny and maniacal behaviors.
