Pros

Pays more than minimum wage. Hot people to look at working out.

Cons

Single people out, if they don't like you they will find some random reason to fire you. They do NO background checks so if you're a convicted murderer and a drug addict, get a job here! No drug testing either. No hours.

Thank you for taking the time to review our company. Unfortunately, we do find your review to be very misleading to anyone interested in a career here at World Gym Smyrna/Vinings. We take a lot of pride in providing a safe environment to not only our members, but to our staff as well. We not only conduct thorough background checks on ALL employees, but we also conduct a search to make sure no sex offenders are inside of our club. We also have cameras located throughout the club and in the parking lots to ensure a safe and secure environment. We do not single out any employees and have never accepted this practice of discipline. We expect everyone to follow the guidelines in the Office Policy Manual. Failure to do so is cause for disciplinary action including verbal warnings, written warnings and discharge from the company. We do our best to provide an employment opportunity that is enjoyable and beneficial to each and every single one of our employees.

Pros

you can make money if you are willing to sell, sell, sell

Cons

Horrible company to work for They sent me to get a certification in order for them to launch a new program. There new program didn't do so well and so they decided to not pay us our contracted amount when there were few participants. This led to me being withdrawn from the program. They have a huge turnover for coaches and employees and its easy to see why.

Pros

Free gym membership when I was at the Smyrna, GA location. Decent hours.

Cons

Pay structure is design to make them huge profits. If you work over 40 hours, they turn you into a 'salary employee' so they dont have to pay you over time BUT if you work under 40, you become hourly so they can give you less...doesn't make sense right? You get $20 for each 1 yr contract a client signs, $10 for renewals. Sales associates are hungry to take sales. The club was overcrowded so clients usually were not wanting to join. Made 8.50/hr...barely made $10 after all commission was included. Lots of 'pushing' to get corporate sales. Certain people at the club FALSELY created accounts on review sites to make the club look good in user reviews. Don't buy into the fake reviews. Don't work here unless you would like a free funeral after you die from exhaustion. Not allowed to eat your outside food (wendys, tacomac) inside the cafe because manager thought it would take sales away from their sports bar.

Thank you for taking the time to review our company. We would like to clear up the confusion you had on our pay structure for membership consultants. We do not operate on a system where an employee is hourly one pay period and salary the next. Our pay structure for membership consultants is a non-refundable Draw against Commission, which is thoroughly explained to each membership consultant when they are hired. A draw against commission with a non-refundable draw pay structure is actually more beneficial to the sales person, than it is to the company. This type of pay structure allows the membership consultant to earn more money by exceeding his/her sales goal. We allow each of our membership consultants to generate his/her own leads which in turn generates more sales to help him/her not only meet the goal, but to exceed it without a cap. However, this DOES require the membership consultant to put in effort to obtain leads and close deals. The membership consultant cannot sit back and wait on walk-ins only to hit his/her sales goal. With that being said, on a draw against commission pay structure the company understands and provides a ramp up period for the membership consultant so we pay a higher commission plus bonus versus a base plus commission and that continues when the sales quota is met. Also, unlike most companies who have a refundable draw we do not deduct from commissions when the membership consultant hits or exceeds his/her sales goal. Therefore, we believe that our pay structure is not designed to make the company huge profits, but is designed to benefit a hard working (but not above 40 hours per week) membership consultant. And finally, our club is far from overcrowded. We often have potential members join for the sheer fact that they are actually able to get on the equipment unlike other clubs in the area. We do find it unfortunate that your experience here has led you to create a very misleading review of our company. We strive to create a work environment that is fun, enjoyable and lucrative for our staff.
