Pros

Smart, driven people. Diversity of projects, great working with clients.

Cons

Big bureaucratic, hierarchical institution. There is a lot of discussion about taking risks and innovating, but not a lot of support to do so.

Frustrating environment to work in

Pros

Very smart and passionate people for the most part. Constantly learning: can take classes, attend lectures, etc.

Cons

Bureaucracy can be stifling. Incentive structures not good for managers or WB as a whole. Can't enter at a junior level and work your way up. Promotions and salaries not necessarily based on performance. Very hard to become full-time staff (to the detriment of the quality of the work being carried out)
