Pros

Very streamlined portal and easy to use interface. Sometimes the topics are interesting. You can work when, where, and how much you want.

Cons

There is a significant learning curve in which you will complete lots of work for which you are not paid. They do not allow for revision of work and simply don't pay you if your work is not accepted. This is counter to every other contract gig I've ever had. Some of the requests cannot be fulfilled by information the Internet. This is why people are paying the $75! They need to give analysts log-in subscriptions to databases where this information can actually be found or allow them to say they have searched for x length of time and the information is just not there. It is very frustrating to spend three or four hours on a project and then get paid nothing because the request was beyond the scope of information available online.

Pros

Choosing your own hours is the only pro

Cons

Working for hours on a request, then getting paid NOTHING for the time spent on it. That's 2hrs of work for $0. Following guidelines to make sure the request is up to "Wonder standards" only for the reviewer to deny it. The research asked for by clients is information that people pay databases for in the region of $100-1000s of dollars, and you are being paid (if you even get paid) 10$ for.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We do have a process in place if you feel a review was off-base; we'll independently assess it and then make sure you're fully compensated if any reviewer errors were made. That said, we are also planning some changes to the review process which sound like more of what you'd be looking for. I'd be happy to share more details --> drop me a line at research@askwonder.com

Pros

Working from home on your schedule.

Cons

Peers determine whether your work is paid o not. Leadership lacking control over "teamwork" leaves competitive co-workers in charge of evaluating work. Work is not dependable. You must maintain a 4.8 out of 5 rating on all work or you could be locked out.

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. I'd like to say plainly that review should never be a personality contest. All work that goes through the Wonder Knowledge Assembly Line should be graded for its merit, not based on researchers' associations with a reviewer. That principle is exactly what guided us to form a double-blind review process that ensures anonymity and objective review. Our goal with review is to capitalize on the years of expertise and talents of our most experienced analysts, while providing real, actionable feedback to the researcher as they grow in the Wonder Community. If you feel that your experience didn't live up to those standards then I urge you to reach out to me at research@askwonder.com so we can rectify the situation. To your other point, analysts with 4.8 and above are considered to be our highest performers, but this is not a threshold that determines your status in the community. As long as your work keeps up with the Wonder Quality Standards you are always welcome to "earn and learn" with us!
