Pros

- Decent Monthly Compensation - Decent Office Pantry

Cons

- No yearly bonus - Barely enough stock compensation - Inexperience managers / leads / senior managers / directors (most of them started working in Wise as agents and got promoted quickly due to company growth - this resulted in lack of exposure to how Corporates are run) - Got cheated by HR to join an analytics team and ended up in a customer support role. Very unethical - Got penalize on working on projects (which contributes to personal growth + solves root causes at work) - was told to focus on answering customer tickets instead - Got unfairly placed on performance review despite performance metrics showing otherwise. Was told that I am not culturally integrated and engaged (why should I, when HR cheated me into a role they overpromised and that the role offers no future growth) - WOULDN'T RECOMMEND to anyone to join Wise, its a cult with employees who are in their 1st job and stuck there because they have not explored other options elsewhere

All about who you know

Pros

Days off, relax clothing mandate and snacks.

Cons

It’s all about who you know, company is very superficial and they never speak direct. If the reviewer doesn’t like you they go out of their way to mark you down while others who do exactly the same are being called model teammates. Big talk, little explanation and support. When you provide “feedback” you can see it’s almost like they are offended that you don’t agree.

Pros

- The environment is good with free breakfast/lunch one a week and snacks/drinks, - Remuneration was quite ok with annual stock. - A good company to work for if you have a good management team who are supportive, appreciate what you are trying to achieve and see the long term picture. - Most of the people and other teams I worked with were decent and helpful. - You will learn a ton in a very short time, as the speed of movement at Wise is rapid.

Cons

- Wise has positive values, but only if management follow those values, which they do not. - Watch out for big egos in clique groups, You may be terminated on a whim unless you are in 'The Club,' and it is not conducted in a decent or humane way. I have seen this happen to people. Managers set you up for failure, not success. This is due to cultural underexposure, immaturity and insecurity. Good managers would always have positive intent in all situations and rise to the challenge of getting the best out of people. - The written values are Customers > team > ego. In my experience, the actual values are Ego > Customer > Team - The mission comes first, regardless. - There is really a lot to do, with little support. This is the challenge with allowing people to be autonomous, especially if management is overseas with no cultural/regional understanding or exposure. They have no clue of the challenges or the work being done. They look at the numbers that can be generated and draw their own opinions based on subjectivity + objectivity in that order. - Generating reports and pulling useful data is near impossible, there is a lot of untracked work people do that cannot be measured, because the mechanisms do not exist to do so. - You cannot generate your own data even if it is accurate, it must come from the 'source of truth.' - Decisions are made by managers without hard data, but if you want to make a change, you need hard data. - Best to prepare yourself to not spend time with family if you have children, as you will put in a lot of extra hours and weekend work for nought.
