Pros

Benefits of Insurance and such

Cons

TL doesn't listen to feedback as we're a new team. The people's team will take the lead's side without listening at all. TL's solution for everything is to refer to WIKI when there are no solutions on the WIKI. My teammates are mostly giving up on providing feedback, 1 they're afraid of losing their jobs 2. They don't want to talk to a rock. The whole team are stressed. My TL shoes 0 compassion, sympathy or a little care for the employees' mental health. If you're going to join the Social Media team and work under the TL I suggest you run before it's too late. They say they welcome your feedback, but can't actually accept your honest opinions. The TL is new, and all the excuses are that she's new. The ATX team is a MESS. We are trained one way, and QA gives feedback another way meaning we were given the wrong information during training, but it's our responsibility at the end of the day. Reported discrepancy to the TL, but no solutions. The job itself is fun to me, challenging, but fun. CSTs don't stress me out, it's how we are graded by QA and a TL who doesn't listen to feedbacks nor does she have any compassion or understanding for depression. I expressed that the QA system and her not listening to our feedback, remember our feedback, not just my feedback. My colleagues talked illy about the TL constantly in this Groupd ME app behind her back, but when I stood up for the team and kept giving feedback. My teammates don't back me up, instead, they said the TL is new. I hate this too-faced culture. Overall, it was such a toxic environment with very low pay, contradicting guidelines, or a lack of guidelines. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They'll lure your in with the on boarding package, once you get onboarded, everything is changed.

Pros

Provide breakfast and a basic gym in the Hungarian office.

Cons

I went though a hard interview process, and then I was offered the role, which I accepted. One month into my probation period I was fired. The reason being was that I failed some knowledge tests by 3-5%. Pretty lame reason to hire and then fire someone. Especially where the trainer Daniel Szel mentioned and clearly stated to us in training that the knowledge tests would not be taken into account. I felt betrayed by this company. The information that they throw at you is immense. I was leaving the training sessions, feeling completely overwhelmed and wondering what it all meant. It was all very confusing and felt stressed about the clear workload and demand they expect. They are also exploiting people in Budapest by offering really basic money to speak and communicate in English. It is not worth the stress in my humble opinion. I don’t think it would be a WISE move to join this company.

Pros

- Mostly nice people that you work with (but have zero time to actually talk to); - Salary and benefits are ok; - The office is modern and looks nice; - It's a good experience to see how the company operates; - 30 days of a notice period so you can get out soon after you find a better job.

Cons

- The job advertisement and the reality are very different; - Personal development opportunities close to zero; - The salary is average but considering the expectations, the workload and the stress, it is really not worth it; - Soul crushing corporate job that is promoted as something super cool. - Flexibility is actually only expected from the employees, you can't really schedule your work as you wish; - If you like to be treated like a robot instead of a human being, it' a great place where to work.

Hi, thank you for your review. I’m really sad to hear this was your experience at Wise. This is the opposite of how we want our people to feel, in particular your frustrations at personal development opportunities. I do hope you were able to leave your thoughts with your lead, or the People team before you left. If you're up for a conversation, I’d like to hear more about your particular experience, so feel free to email employerbrand@transferwise.com so we could connect. Best wishes, Maire
