You will be treated as if you are employed by a sweatshop

Pros

The business is growing, although digging deep into the numbers tells a different story. The pay package is decent ( but the value for you stops there).

Cons

Culture is a mess, no direction from leadership; even after given direct feedback that better employee retention tactics are needed...They're response asking (bribing) people to post positive things on glassdoor. Your career will develop if you know the right people and they like you. Managers only concerned with pleasing their managers even at the expense of the people. Have heard colleagues shamed for taking PTO, for not working 50 hour weeks. Recruiters sell you hard on growth, but you get a different story from your managers once you are on a team. Review process is a mess.

Pros

Good company benefits (healthcare, gym contributions, monthly team outings etc)

Cons

Not recognised for hard work and length of service which means the longer-serving employees are not motivated (management are aware of this and continue to do nothing about it). Goalposts move at every review to justify why no pay rises given. Pay structure is never transparent and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it (level 1s on similar salaries to level 2s etc). No real team structure or clarity in career progression, no clear expectations laid out for this. Wayfair is a great place to work for a year or so when just starting out but there is no real career progression and they mess their staff around by introducing new measures and changing structure constantly. Reviews every 6 months creates an anxious culture of comparing yourself to everyone else (they use a calibration model so they actually do rank everyone against each other). Low motivation and morale seems to be a problem across all departments.
