Pros

The customers of Wayfair are incredible. I loved my actual job. The pay isn't bad and if you are in good standing you have it made there. There are career advancement opportunities.

Cons

The attendence policy is horrible. The managers pick favorites and do not have your back. Work force management is absolutely useless. Wayfair is way too "fire happy" and will let you go over minimal offenses. They lack empathy and don't make exceptions for you. If your computer boots up too slow, they do not consider that a technical issue and will mark you late for that. They take 30 mins of sick time for being 5- 30 mins late. They do not explain to you that being in a not ready state accidently will mark you late. You are just supposed to know all these things and there are no room for mistakes or errors. When you move up skill levels, it is difficult to get any time off approved. They came out with a new flex policy that allows you to slide your shift but failed to send out any info or e learning on the process until over a week after the policy began. I was sick and since I didn't know to tell them an hour in advance, they wouldn't make the exception for me. Even though others got exceptions made for them and they never even explained the guidelines. I lost my voice due to bronchitis for a week and had to use the majority of my sick time. They would not work with me or accept a doctor's note. I asked if I could still work and have email time and they said no. I found out they made an exception for someone else that lost their voice. They kick you while your down and lack any compassion or empathy. They do not work with you when you have legitimate issues, make a mistake, or have misunderstandings. The turn over is unreal there. They would rather fire good employees over minimal mistakes and hire brand new people continuously. It looks really bad on them and shows the lack of job security. They are hiring every couple of weeks because they are constantly firing people. I've seen so many people get fired unjustly. They have lawsuits against them for it. You cannot trust HR either. They are bias and try to coerce you into bad mouthing people they are trying to get rid of and twist your words around and threaten to fire you if you talk to anyone about it. It's quite disturbing actually. Everyone is wondering when they will be let go next and are constantly walking on eggshells. I've never been let go before and based what has happened to me and many others, I honestly would not recommend working here unless you like to live on the wild side and enjoy being in suspense on whether you still fired next or not.

Pros

Lots of other smart and motivated data scientists to work with. Snacks are nice. Overall a good work/life balance. Other benefits are pretty good/average.

Cons

Pay is below market, especially for a $10+ bn company. It's gotten very hierarchical. Senior managers of the data science teams play a lot of politics and pick favorites. What's valued more and more is heads-down, produce-a-lot type of work. It's not a surprise since they hire at least two new data scientists every week. It's a great first job, learn a lot and get some experience, and move on to a better (higher paying or less political) company, e.g. Amazon/Microsoft/startup. Long-term prospects are limited unless you want to be a favorite and play the politics game. I don't care for it.

Pros

Benefits are great, PTO, free snacks

Cons

I don't even know where to start... When I got hired a year ago the job was enjoyable. They've increased metrics since by 30%, changed the commision structure as well so now I'm doing more work but getting paid less. Almost everyone on the floor hates the job but upper management sees everyone as disposable so they dont really care. It's a call center job not a real sales job.
