Pros

- Free snacks (but always the same varieties all year round) - Location - Large corporate office - Employee discount - Work-life balance - Great learning/training/orientation programs

Cons

- Unreasonably low pay - Mixed quality of employees: Some employees are clearly lacking training, and some managers obviously don't have management skills. Some managers ask you to report every time you're not at your desk for more than 5 min (excuse me?) - Increasingly hierarchical structure: You might still be fooled by its self-proclaimed "startup" culture, but the truth is, the structure has much changed. Remember, this company has 10 levels for its employees. - Shifting structure: A lot of changes are constantly happening - structure of each team, team names, personnel, etc. Confusing. - Unclear/non-transparent communication: The company doesn't have the proclaimed the transparency. Managers don't necessarily let you know what is going on here in the company, and some of them don't even care either (for instance, they don't themselves attend company quarterly meetings, etc.) People have different standards, for instance, some managers don't even allow coffee breaks except for lunch break (excuse me?). You might think that people here are mostly open-minded because of the open floorplans, self-proclaimed start-up, fast-growing environment, but this is certainly not the case with certain departments.

Pros

The people are the only reason employees stay. This company used to be able to hire top talent & smart people, which created a good learning environment. But eventually all the good, smart, talented employees leave to go off to bigger & better places that will pay them 3x's if not more the money. The furniture discount is okay, depending on which manufacturers your buying from (margins). Majority of the time employees don't even get a discount because the margins are so bad, therefore your better off going to retailmenot.com & getting a 10% off coupon for being a new customer, IM NOT KIDDING EMPLOYEES HAVE DONE THIS.

Cons

Everything. The pay is SO BELOW market value, its a joke. HR tries to rope new employees in with "equity" and lies about the bonus. First off, HR lies about the bonus because they 1- always tell new hires they can "get up to 10%", when in reality the high bonus is considered 5-6% AND the bonuses are PRORATED FROM YOUR START DATE. Noone ever tells new hires this, because they are afraid they'll turn down the position once they realize theyll make no money. Also 40% of your bonus gets taken away from taxes, so your left with barely anything. Theres also ZERO ROOM FOR GROWTH OR PROMOTIONs. Management legit says "someone has to leave for you to get promoted"
