Pros

When I started in 2019 I truly thought it was the best place to work and I would be there very long term. Great culture and strong leaders. Unfortunately they began hiring the wrong leaders/adding too many layers of mgmt and it fell apart...quickly.

Cons

Leadership was riding the Covid wave boom that home furnishings experienced with no sense of longer term strategy in managing the business. The over hiring was apparent before it even began. There are many areas of the business that have overlapping responsibilities without aligned strategies and the layers of management (without promoting from within) were laughable. Leadership has completely run this company into the ground due to politics, and complete inability to execute (particularly the global logistics strategy). It was really disheartening to see this company go from a really amazing, top place to work with great culture and incredible, passionate, talent who really cared about the business, to one of the most poorly run businesses over a matter of months (end of 2020-Q1 2022).

Pros

Their compensation is great when the stock is doing well. It's been why I've stayed for the last few years.

Cons

They used to be a great place to work. Now the leadership is so disconnected from reality and refuses to listen to critical employee feedback when it does not fit into their narrative. Leaders like to talk about values and the Wayfair way, but then never demonstrate the behaviors they talk about - especially when it would inconvenience their world in any way. Go ahead and guess who the biggest offenders of the in office mask policy have been during COVID... leadership of course. They also don't value developing employees as much as they value bringing in outside talent. Their so called culture is a myth at this point, they've inherited culture from wherever they can source directors from and each team has a different experience. Because of this phenomenon, there are still pockets of positivity. Your director and their chain of command matters a ton.

Pros

You get to work from HOME during this Pandemic.

Cons

No raises. Beware of the 'BONUS' they use to lure in employees. It has become an unattainable feat because of their unfair metric system. Their systems are outdated and constantly lagging/crashing. Very expensive benefits. Forced OVERTIME during peak seasons. If you need to travel to see your family during Holidays, you can forget about spending Christmas and Thanksgiving with your family as you will need to work some forced overtime the days before and after! When you start employment they lie to you by saying they are a non-scripted company. In reality they control your every word by giving you a script of things to say, what they call "list of behaviors". Lousy Management. Nobody in Management wants to be held accountable or is trying to fix lingering problems to make a better experience for their employees. Too much responsibility and accountability is placed on the Customer Service reps, even for things that they are not responsible for. Not enough staff - all the good ones end up quitting and they do not hire more people fast enough.
