Pros

Culture, Opportunity, and Benefits. The people rock!

Cons

Growing quickly means lots of changes and a sense of the unknown future of things (as far as organization); it's clear we will continue to succeed.

Pros

It has a premiere location in the prudential tower. There are also sports tickets which are given out as well as free snacks. There are several opportunities to work overtime hours on nights and weekends for more money as well.

Cons

The biggest problem with CSN stores is that you are not appreciated or promotable unless you are very good friends with members of management. If you are not going out to drinks with management at least a couple of nights a week then your chances of being promoted are not probable. It has a high school attmosphere that is not just a result of the casual atmosphere that is looser than most other companies. Over expansion is also a huge downfall of CSN. We have over 300 stores which many of them have the same repetative names. I know there are at least 10 different sites that we have that pertain to different kinds of rugs from outdoor rugs to shag rugs to kitchen rugs. This isn't a problem with just rugs but also with many of the other items that CSN carries. CSN shouldn't have more than 100 stores which are specialized to certain particular items. The other problem is that employees are not trained to know the products on the websites as well as they should be. That still doesn't stop from the advertisement of trained experts on our websites which for an item like a generator is very misleading. Add this with the fact that there is no clue as to what kind of customer comes accross the phone line with each call it is shocking to note that CSN hasn't started into complete free fall as of yet.

Pros

It's a very transparent company. You can see how each line of business is doing and have access to whatever information you want. Anyone, even the CEO, is available to ask questions of and learn from or make suggestions to. Everyone works together to solve problems and there isn't a culture of blame or of politics. There's a great energy and desire to win through the company and we hear that from suppliers and visitors constantly. It's also just fun to be part of one of the largest online retailers and get to grow with the company.

Cons

I have to show up? I mean, it's a job, but from everything I hear from all of my friends, it's fantastic compared to what's out there. You can see enough of the business to know the impact of what you're doing, even when you only have a small area you work in. I do wish there was a better way to know what fruit was in the snack room because some of the good stuff goes fast. There's free snacks including fruit, but we run out of apples half way through the week. It would be nice to always have them on hand.
