WB Pros and Cons

Pros

Good benefits,I prefer the culture over most of the industry competitors, the number of long term employees speaks well for the company and means there are many resources with lots of experience in the industry, generally the industry has been and is continuing to contract, unless you are in the production / marketing positions pay tends to be below average

Cons

Company can be highly resistant to change, decisions are often made by committee requiring long periods of consensus building, because of this often who you know is more important than what you know

One of the better employers

Pros

Lots of little perks: Gym on site, several Starbucks and Jamba Juice locations, company stores, discounts, good food and fine dining, employee movie screenings, extra paid time off during the summer and at Christmas that doesn't count against your sick/vacation time.

Cons

Hard to transfer or advance. Very pigeon-holed. You should pretty much expect the job you are hired to do will be the one you do until you quit or get laid off. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Good luck with the IT service desk if your computer breaks.

Cares more about budget than employees

Pros

WB creates great content, and has a lot of great people working at lower levels. WB provides great benefits, and standard time off. Because WB is an internationally known company, you can feel pride knowing that people will be impressed, when you tell them where you work.

Cons

Just in my time there, I saw several departments laid-off. This was even before WB laid off 12% of their company worldwide. People were constantly in fear of losing their jobs, and were constantly on job boards looking for new opportunities. WB is known for low pay. I saw many talented people paid very little, while having their ideas taken by the execs. Many execs within the company care more about raising themselves up higher, which often pushes their team lower. There is not a great culture within Home Entertainment. Within a month working at the company, i had several people tell me to leave as fast as I could. They let me know that there is no opportunity for growth within the company. Employees feel unheard and under-appreciated. Since the mass layoffs, employees feel stretched thin and over-used, while still in fear of losing their jobs.
