Pros

It is close to home and a 10% discount on your purchases. I like the other employees that i work with as they all try to work together to get the job done. They have always worked my personal schedule around my work days as long as you give them ample notice.

Cons

Never enough employees schedule at the right times to handle customer needs. Store Management will not say hello to employees when walking by them in an aisle at least at my location. Communication seems to be and issue from store management and the constantly changing polices and procedures on different issues throughout the store confuse the employees.

Pros

The stock options are the best part of Wal -Mart. There are a lot of people that have made a loy of money working at Wal-Mart.

Cons

Since Sam Walton died they do not care about the employees> The benefits are not what they used to be. Turn over is up and long term rmployees are down.

Pros

Wal-Mart offers employees an excellent opportunity to bonus with the company. Each quarter the associates are eligible to receive up to $450 depending on sales, profit, inventory, and customer service. Wal-Mart also matches 15% of what the associates put towards Wal-Mart stock from their paychecks. They offer holiday pay, a Sunday premium, and a 10% discount as well. There are many opportunities to advance with the company with little higher education - a big difference from many other companies!!!! The stores are very close knit and the associates become family. Raising money for Children's Miracle Network is very rewarding and the company does some amazing things for this organization. They also donate a lot of money to local communities and organizations.

Cons

No company is perfect, and Wal-Mart is not exempt from this. Short staffing can often be a problem as it is a very fast paced retail environment that many people are not ready for. Often changes are initiated by home office and not explained to the associates in a timely manner, thus creating low morale and poor communication. Each store is different and no store is consistent with all policies, which can make it confusing when transferring or working in another facility. Management in each store is also different, which can make or break the environment. They are the backbone of each store, and with poor management the morale in the store will also be very poor.
