Pros

The convenience of being able to work, attend school and be a mother. There are not alot of places to work in a small town. They let me work only part-time which is all I can do being a full time student and mother of a preschool age child. The bonuses and profit sharing are nice. They could do a little more for their employees around the holidays, many employees do not recieve anything. I feel that walmart could let their employees know a little more that we are the ones that make the difference. If a person wants to come to work then they will do a much better job than someone who doesn't.

Cons

The managemnet team is not very professional. The wages and benefits are not good. I feel that at my particular walmart it depends on who you are if you can advance in the company. If you do not follow the right ones you will never advance. To me this something that needs to be looked into. I have personally dealt with managemtn not having respect for their employees also and feel this is something that makes a huge impact on the type of business you ahve in your community.

Pros

Walmart is good working with my school schedule. My store manager is fairly nice to employees which goes around well with all.

Cons

The pay isn't as good as it could be. Electronics employees are on a pay grade 5 where as I'm on a pay grade 3. The equipment in the photo lab is very very fragile and can be damage and a lot of money can be lost if it is down at the most a day. The equipment is important to keep the lab up and running. Walmart needs to keep enough employees on hand for all occasions. Cashiers where I work are desperately short. This affects me when there are a lot of Photo lab employees working.

I can't take off even for a funeral of a family member , if it's not immedient member without getting a point. they have the point system you know.'In the past wal-mart would work with you on your schedule now they won't. you have to have open avilability or they cut your hours where you don't have enough to make a living.
