Pros

The building is beautiful, they provide a modern workspace. Billing supervisors may scare you into believing the project accountants (PA) are scary but they are very understanding and nice.

Cons

No hesitation to fire someone. I was there for only 2 months and they had fired 5 people with no solid reason for the let go. The billing department is a mess. A lot of employees are on edge and scared because of this culture. Heavy biller turnover, PA's has to do the billers job. Employee morale is low. Employees can't have a mind of there own. When you are working with others they respond to your emails by contacting your manager who communicates to you that the person can't meet for training, almost all communication goes through the manager even the smallest things. Manager and supervisors are very territorial.

Buzz Words without Backing

Pros

There are a lot of opportunities for a young engineer. Being such a large company, engineers are able to work on multiple types of projects and with any different project managers.

Cons

They are too big and do not have a clear focus. Buzz words are used to describe the vision of the company. Not convincing.

Pros

-Early exposure and responsibility on large scale projects -Young office with good gender balance, a softball team, and the occasional happy hour -Plenty of PE's to get recommendations from for those looking for qualifying experience to take the PE exam -Plenty of PTO (less for new hires) -Good engineers to learn from, although more personal initiative is required to capitalize on this.

Cons

-Increasingly restrictive work environment -Production focused, little effort to involve lower level engineers on initial design decisions -Half measures to increase employee satisfaction like an employee committee and ping pong table, while stripping benefits, reducing review and raise frequency, and limiting decision making power of the local office. -Mass exodus of experienced and innovative upper management since Flack + Kurtz was acquired by WSP Group
