Pros

It is stable place to work with a lot of nice people

Cons

Low salary, reorganization at least once a year (after each round it becomes worse), too many management levels, if you do not have connections and not Scandinavian very difficult to get promoted higher than a team manager. Too many people in the IT company who knows nothing about software development and related processes.

Pros

Biggest software house in the nordics with a lot of sway and funding is not an issue by any means. The paycheck will always come through and the conditions are mostly stable. If you know how to climb a hierarchy and know how to be ruthless there are a lot of opportunities. If you're part of the Visma companies that are currently in vogue with top management, you will have access to all the technology, funding and engagement you could want. For some, Visma is the greatest place to work in the nordics, even the world. But make sure you do your research and be absolutely sure that you join one of the favoured companies in the Visma federation. That being said, Visma is filled with a lot of great people that make the company successful.

Cons

This depends on which Visma company you work at and how much in favour that peculiar company is with top level management. If you end up working in one that is construed as sidelined you can expect mediocre to low pay, low engagement, a host of capacity issues and a whole lot of frustration. In Visma, you will sooner or later be aware of the politics that occur behind the scenes and how they seem to decide where the priorities are shifted. There can be a shift on the day that will relegate your company to the sidelines due to a new strategy or major decision from above. There has been a few sketchy decisions made and good, loyal and competent people have been forced to leave on short notice. If you plan to accept a position in Visma, i highly suggest you do your research, get organized and join a union beforehand.
