Pros

The company definitely promotes within, and your growth goes as far as you want it to go! Your staff can become your family as you work so closely with each other every day, and regional teamwork is best if you utilize it.

Cons

Although the company is expanding to bigger and better things. The attention to current properties lacks in terms of man power, financial resources, and causes some poor morale on sites. If you are at a smaller site, the property manager will have to play the role of sales consultant, concierge, security officer, and sometimes maintenance staff. Overall in my experience it is a lot of work to complete to uphold the VG standard with less resources, and below average property manager wages

Pros

VG encourages continued education and provides ample opportunity for professional development via webinars, hands-on training, and classes offered through 3rd parties and the University of Village Green. A strong work ethic is rewarded and also assumed because of the company's dedication to training. That assumption of performance has provided opportunity to expand in the Midwest and promote internally. I personally welcomed relocation throughout St. Louis, Chicago, and Detroit portfolios in order to advance my career. Most importantly, prospect and resident satisfaction remains the main priority. This core belief is the driving factor in daily operations despite title. I recently celebrated my sixth anniversary with VG and feel honored to have served thousands of residents throughout the years.

Cons

Cons aren't relevant, as opportunity is embraced. The recruiting process has been refined over the years and continues to evolve. I look forward to assisting in this effort and building a bench of qualified employees to backfill positions as portfolios continue to expand.
