Pros

The company definitely promotes within, and your growth goes as far as you want it to go! Your staff can become your family as you work so closely with each other every day, and regional teamwork is best if you utilize it.

Cons

Although the company is expanding to bigger and better things. The attention to current properties lacks in terms of man power, financial resources, and causes some poor morale on sites. If you are at a smaller site, the property manager will have to play the role of sales consultant, concierge, security officer, and sometimes maintenance staff. Overall in my experience it is a lot of work to complete to uphold the VG standard with less resources, and below average property manager wages

Pros

Very few. They give you a lot of well-rounded training which is good. It is a fairly young work environment with most of your peers being the same age. Decent benefits, uncapped commissions.

Cons

Expect to work more than 40hrs each week and then be berated by upper management for working overtime. Some Area Directors are absolutely clueless and think renting apartments is easy, even though most of them have never done it. Extremely low pay even with commission. You will work every weekend at least one day if not both days. It leaves very little time to have a social life. Village Green is a very "What have you done for us lately?" Company.

Pros

Good core values and excellent training when progressing through the ranks. Truly enjoyed many of my coworkers and remain in close contact to this day. While many of the expectations seem strict they are not hard to uphold if the proper amount of work is put into the position. I left because the farther up I got the more corrupt the company seemed to become and I couldn't ethically work for that type of business.

Cons

Many of the higher ups have been hired externally and have little knowledge of what the lower tier employees actually do. The CEO is merely in the position he is in because the company was handed to him as a family business. There is no real grasp of how to run the company. The company used to have a major presence in property management with properties in nearly half the United States. Sadly VG has lost so many clients they are barely hanging on to the ones they have now.
