Pros

I enjoyed working with the kids and staff. I had the opportunity to work in several different positions and Victor was very flexible with allowing me to respond to emergencies in the community as a volunteer firefighter.

Cons

The continued lack of staffing. Expected to work 12-14 hour shifts and not given any opportunities to take rest breaks even though the employee handbook states that non-exempt staff are required to take a 10 minute rest break for every 4 hours worked. Being told that "you are not entitled to any overtime" when taking an RSS position. Even though most of an RSS's time is in direct care of the kids we served. Legal actions were taken and several RSS's in the Redding VTC program was awarded in favor of by the Labor Commissioner. Of course Victor, with their deep pockets, appealed but ended up settling in court to prevent it from going to trial. Everyone's days are numbered and they won't hesitate to fire you. Only to look like fools to the unemployment judge when they can't prove any gross misconduct had happened.

Thank you for your review. While we cannot comment on any legal or unemployment claims, we do want to ensure that all employees are receiving an opportunity to take their rest periods. We encourage any employee who feels they are unable to take a rest period to contact their Executive Director.

Great Place to Work!

Pros

This organization spends a good deal of time defining it's mission and values, and making sure that priorities are benefiting the clients that we serve. They take care of the people that work for them. There is much opportunity to have a voice in how you do your job. You get the feeling that people matter, whether it is employees, or clients. You feel well taken care of, and heard. It is nice to be a part of an agency that provides such wonderful services for kids and their families.

Cons

It's a big organization. Sometimes it is hard to stay connected with all the other sites because of the size. However, there is a lot of energy and attention spent on keeping everyone connected and keeping it feeling small while it grows.

Pros

They offer your average time off earn out monthly, average hourly pay, but then they require you to be able to do every job function possible added to your your regular duties.

Cons

Require more than your job duties for the hourly pay you receive. Not worth it.
