Pros

It was one if the best places to work when Dave Favor (RIP) was at the helm. It was a company that truly cared about their employees and was prideful to have tenured employees. 20 years with the company was not unheard of and in fact was common place. An agency that cared about the kids we served. Those days are gone!

Cons

Supervisors, directors and the CEO instilled fear, threats, and disrespect. Constantly reminding their employees of the "at will" clause. Money was more important that quality of service. We were often instructed to see the same client multiple times in the same week to drive up billable hours for reimbursement although the client didn't need the service. Unethical practices!!

Pros

I worked for Victor for over 6 years full time. Overall I enjoyed my time with the company despite the many stressful situations I was placed in. I mostly spent my time away from the administration, and that helped me last with this employer. They also have an incredible vacation policy. I was getting almost 7 weeks of vacation a year. The school is the best part of working for Victor. The school setting despite having a revolving door for the principal, was the best part of Victor, and as a result had the least amount of employee turnover.

Cons

The pay for the floor staff is incredibly low for the amount of abuse an individual will take, thus leading to the extremely high turnover of the floor staff. There isn't much growth opportunities for most employees, and the growth that can be experienced leads to salary positions where you work so much overtime that you would be better off working as a floor staff for hourly wages. Management is extremely horrible, dishonest, and sub par. They don't listen to the staff, and are running the agency into the ground. This agency was once a great place to work, and had great family values. Now it's simply about greed, and money. Not a friendly environment to work in. As a result the company is understaffed, and when they get people, they don't stay very long. Further, the lack of staff creates an unsafe work environment.

Pros

health benefits for full time employees are good

Cons

The things that they dont tell you in the interview: You will not get paid for any holiday, and if you work a holiday you will not get paid additional wages. nope, just your flat rate. If you work at the school you do not get enough PTO to cover the 12 weeks of vacation. If you work at the group homes you wont ever get time off! The upper management team (Office Manager, Executive Director...) are horrible people. They are dishonest and will talk about everyone behind their backs. They have no ethics and no business smarts. They lie and cheat the government and will get caught eventually.
