Pros

Beautiful mountain environment. Fresh air, nice people to work with.

Cons

This company has no concern for the people who try to make it the best. Compensation is rediculously low. The CEO says it is in line with industry standards but he obviously has no clue what it costs to live in the Vail Valley. New young vibrant employees struggle to afford even a mediocre condo. A college education for your children is impossible on a Vail Resorts paycheck- so these much needed young employees leave after a couple of years. A private snowboard lesson costs $775. The instructor takes home $100. Broomfield corp. headquarters obviously has no respect for the mountain employees. Benefits- what other company gives a 30 year employee a small gift certificate (only to be used at a Vail Resorts store) and then deducts taxes out after giving the certificate? Middle management- in complete CYA mode. Do not rock the boat or you are out the door. HR department- is there one? Accounting department rules. It's all about stock price and bottom line. Humans are expendible inventory.
