Pros

Great people in the stores. People with passion and heart and soul. Hard working, fun, lively, real people. Human powered outdoor recreation is good and fun.

Cons

Pathetic pay. I cannot work so hard for so little money. Neither can I stomach working for people who pay themselves several hundred times what they pay me. My first paycheck didn't cover my rent. I tried to find Ken Gart's annual compensation as President and Chief Operating Officer of Specialty Sports Venture, but failed. Why is that?

Pros

If your M.O. is to work and ski/snowboard this is a job with a schedule to accommodate it. That said, plan on working a second job to be able to pay your bills and squeeze by in a resort town. Discounts and access to pro forms are a major plus. Specialty Sports Ventures is a reputable company so having a reference can be advantageous in the long run.

Cons

Its clear that most employees are viewed as disposable and their opinions aren't really appreciated.
