Pros

- Free Epic Pass for you and dependents (including wife and kids) - Great discounts (50% off MSRP) on brands like Columbia, Mountain Hardware and Solomon - They don't micromanage in the warehouse and trust that you will be accountable

Cons

- Pay scale is a little low compared to competitors - overtime is mandatory during parts of the busy ski season

Pros

Great discount. 30% on merch in store. Some vendors offer up to 60% when ordering through them online. “Free” Ski pass. Mostly good colleagues. Flexible scheduling.

Cons

1st is the “Free” ski pass. This is why a lot of people choose to work here. But remember that nothing in life is really free. If it is than it’s too good to be true. What I mean by that, is that there are a lot of days in the season, where vail blocks out resort access from their employees. And hardly gives any notice. 2ond, The wages are not something that you can live on if you work full-time here in the Denver area. 3rd is the sometimes misleading information on websites. Sometimes on EPIC’s website, they post discounts that don’t specify (ex. Type of wax and/or tune) that is discounted in store. Or the jr trade program, when it said on the website that walk-in appointments were accepted, when we had no where near the appropriate staffing ratios to accept walk-ins. These kind of things understandingly left customers furious when they arrived at our store and found out that we couldn’t serve them. Vail knows, but they don’t want to do anything about it. And employees who had nothing to do with it take a lot of heat as a result. If you want to work here, just do one day a week in order to make the most of your time and money.
