Pros

It's a pretty secure job. Anyone can mess up and cost the company millions of dollars which I've heard happen to other teams and still be able to work which is a good thing if you're looking for stability. I also learned quiet a lot here. One good thing I like here is that sometimes they let you run with the project. So you can lead it.

Cons

The team I was on was not bad, but there's way too many meetings for developers in my opinion. If I am allocated 6 hours a day to code, but am in meetings from 8:30am to 12:30pm and have a few meetings in the afternoon I can't get any work done. If you're not on a new project you'll be working on very old tech stake. They tend to overwork their developers instead of hiring resources to reduce the workload. Everything is priority so you'll be working like 2 to 4 projects either supporting and actively developing while attending all these meetings.

Pros

Good healthcare and benefits due to union. Option to work more if you want. Over time pay if you work more then 40 hours a week. I didn't struggle to transition to gave yard

Cons

Awful training. Receive 2 days of training then expected to work as fast as employees who worked their longer. Madagment keeps permoting the people they don't like, so you might struggle with them or you might get a supervisor who dosen't know how to do your job or their own job. Inconsistent start times. Poor comuncastion between madagment and you. 90 porbastion (3 months) before reciving union benefits or could file a complaint towards how you were treated during training. Maybe be given too many truck that you can handle then given a hard time for not doing them all perfectly. They say 8am as end time. More like 9am or 10am. You finish when your trucks leave. You may get a supervisor who is very bad at running their belt. Say good bye to a social life or personal life if you are someone who requires more sleep.
