Pros

It allows you to have flexibility so that if you are a single parent with kids that needs to be available during the day hours you can choose the shift that suits you. Fast paced. Awesome benefits.

Cons

They say they promote from within which I have found to not be true. Some of their supervisor's don't treat the hourly with a level of respect

Pros

Main Details: Orientation is every week from Tuesday - Friday. The pay is $10.20 per hr for Orientation week only then $11 once you start. For PT, pay is $11 per hr and overtime is time and a half ($16.50) after working for more than 5 hours straight. I work in SPA (Scan, print &apply) and work as a sorter afterward if need be. Thursday is payday. Work varies from either M-F or Tue-Sat. Double shifts can be worked (based upon seniority) for both Twilight and Preload. Off holidays unless you sign up for them. Seniority rules. Everything is team based.

Cons

High standards. Breaks are only 10 min, everyone takes the break at the same time. Only one break. Takes time to learn the facility layout. Will take about 2-3 weeks to fully learn it. Supervisors are a hit or miss, IMO. YMMV. Some are better than others. No live checks. Direct deposit or this debit card that your earnings are loaded into. DO NOT BE LATE. THEY WILL HAND YOUR BUTT ON A PLATTER FOR IT. If you're not there at least 5 minutes early HR will yell. I cannot stress this enough. Clocking in at 3:27 for a 3:30 shift will get you shouted at. No consistent start/end times, at least for preload. Start times (so far) can be as early as 2:45a to as late as 3:30a, depending on facility needs. 3:30a-8a is a general guideline at best. Some may leave as late as 10a. If you work SPA, keep hands moisturized. After a full week of working my pointer finger is bleeding from sticking labels onto thousands of boxes. Invest in good quality gloves for when you get called to sort.

Pros

The employees at UPS are dedicated and the money and benefits are excellent. It is a fast paced day with many challenges.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations and uninspired leadership from the corporate office. The level of micromanagement is at a all time high. UPS currently has an outside company evaluating inefficiencies and cuts are expected in the future
