Pros

Benefits Decent pay No prior supervisory/management experience required to get promoted Looks good on your resume Gives you logistics experience Hours can be beneficial to you if you go to school or have a family Guaranteed 27.5 hours a week

Cons

I am proud to work for UPS as a company. The company itself does a lot of good, and takes care of its employees. When becoming a supervisor, you are no longer in the union, so you aren’t protected. As far as upper management is concerned, at least with my hub and my experience, it is toxic and degrading. My first months as a supervisor were hell, and I was miserable. I was set up to fail, and never received the proper or adequate training to actually succeed. Basically, I got in trouble for things I was never taught. The hub itself also isn’t safe. Seems like they only care about safety and sticking to the rules when corporate shows up. The hours can really hurt you too. While you make a decent hourly wage, if it isn’t peak season, you’ll struggle to even work 27+ hours.
