Pros

Flexible hours, no micromanagement, and lots of time off.

Cons

The pay absolutely sucks. Leads, supervisors, management and above have no guts to stand up for their employees. New employees coming in make more than tenured employees with the same job title and YOU have to train them. No communication. Our Tier 1/Service Desk is full of incompetent people that can't even spell and make more money than they should. Constantly doing other people's jobs, even in different groups while the employees in those groups sit on their butts and do nothing.

Pros

Flexible schedule and ability to choose which schools that I will take an assignment. I enjoy working with middle school students. I like younger children but was not ready for the emotional and behavioural issues within the classroom. Much respect for all the teachers.

Cons

It can be disorienting, at first, as you learn the school routine etc. Best advice I can offer is to take an assignment with older students, such as 4th grade and up. They know the routine and will help you.
