Pros

Most of the NON-management folks are very nice people BUT they put up with way to much baloney and lies from management There are greenfield projects at the company The process is almost non existent (that is really a con).

Cons

They brought back a very toxic employee that should have been terminated. Once the VP got him to convert to christianity and had hosted a party for him at his home, he was given his job back. The pay is lousy. Management is absentee. They tend to only hire folks from their traditional latin-mass church and catholic school circles and a bunch of folks from a company that the VP was once sued by. INTERESTING. Corporate took money out of everyone's paychecks for 401k contributions in June and the money did not show up in the Merrill Lynch accounts until 6 weeks later. Hmmm. There was a market rally in those weeks. Nobody got compensated for the loss of gains but they should have. Maynard VP is always late on quarterly bonus payment and the only way to get rewarded for good work is to be perceived as a flight risk or have a job offer. Pay increases to some of the most loyal and hard working team members was so low that it was insulting. Do NOT under any circumstance work for them, especially if you are on a Work Visa.

Pros

Masters degree in dealing with dishonest “professionals”

Cons

Imagine a salesforce where an inner circle of commissioned VP’s not only direct incoming leads, but administer and police the company CRM. They will search through it using privileged access, find accounts you have established, then use the details to reach out to other units at the same company, claiming your previous work as their own. As you get promoted, you will be made to start from scratch finding accounts per the structure below: Account manager: 100% of commissions from your sales go to your manager, forever Account Executive: 50% of all commissions go to your manager, forever Director of Business Development: new accounts you find you keep 100%, provided no one else claims to have helped uncover the account or worked with them before (good luck there). Mind you, the old accounts you split are expected to grow and be managed by you, and will take up the majority of your day - making the possibility of finding new business through cold calling quite remote. The model hires kids out of college and makes them think this is how normal businesses are run. Many excellent production folks, but the sales program is completely corrupt and a poison to productivity and the motivation of honest people. Do not waste your time, energy and sanity working here, you will be used as a tool for the enrichment of others.

Pros

- Great line of diverse products to sell (most of them are very competitive) - Fun co-workers (heavily dependent on location) - Plethora of Industry savvy co-workers to learn product knowledge and sales tips from - POTENTIAL for long term high pay - Benefits (Health insurance and PTO) are significantly better than most small-mid size companies

Cons

- Pyramid scheme with extra perks structure - Very low starting salary for all jobs - Morale in most locations - Work/Life balance is terrible compared to most good sales teams - You are expected to manage accounts for which you don't get paid, but your managers do (they're essentially milking you for free work so they can get commission). - Upper management. Some people have been there so long they own so many accounts and barely work while still getting paid commission. This is very discouraging for new employees. - Commission structure until you hit Director level is a joke (1% on referred clients, 2% on clients you find yourself) while your managers are making 9+% on your sales. - Promotions are done in bulk, and aren't based on success. I had colleagues who had done nothing but been there half a year longer than me, get promoted at the same time with the same pay raises.
