Pros

I had a desk and a lunch break. There's a 20 word minimum so I have to keep writing just to reach the minimum

Cons

Glassdoor is meant to be a website that customers, employees, or possibly future employees can get a real view of the company culture, work/life balance etc. It is meant to be honest and an inside look at what goes on. My manager at TransPerfect came to me and asked me to write a positive review for the company. Mind you, my manager never spends time with me, and when she does treats me like I'm incapable of doing anything correctly. My hours are absurd, my work is demeaning, I spend 75% of my day cold-calling, the other 25% I do folding letters, printing envelopes, and stuffing mailers. Based on what I was told I'd be doing as opposed to what I am actually doing, this job is a joke. Actually, this company is a joke and shouldn't even be considered such. I'm not okay with lying to the people who look to this site for guidance and telling them that this is an excellent company with room for growth because, not to burst your bubble ITS NOT. If you're in this mess, get out while you can.

Pros

This is your chance to experience first hand a company which has been built on lies, broken promises and manipulation

Cons

The working hours are long, the pay is low and the pressure is high. Nothing wrong with that, of course, I have held demanding jobs before. But the undertone here is permanent abuse: people get played against each other, managers abuse their reports by lying, bullying and displaying two-faced behavior. You are encouraged to find fault with translators so you can cut their payments. You are told to charge clients for work which was never done. There is a permanent exodus of workers, making the pressure on those who are left behind even bigger. Morale is low. No chance of promotion, no pay raises. Work hard, play hard (the company's motto) in practice comes down to working 12-hour days as a standard, and then drinking yourself completely stupid. Taking into account the unpaid overtime, your hourly wages will be lower than a janitor's.

Pros

Easy admin work that did not need excessive training. Not even a pro if you ask me

Cons

I worked here for a short period, and it was one of the most toxic work environments I've ever encountered. The entire experience felt like a setup for failure. Remote training was chaotic and riddled with micromanagement. The smallest misunderstandings were blown out of proportion, and I wasn’t even given a fair opportunity to clarify or defend myself. At one point, simply glancing away from the screen for a moment was labeled as “disrespectful” and “distracted.” Clearly, there is some sort of power structure in place - we're expected to be in office 5 days a week with little room for flexibility even if requesting so well in advance, but the VP gets to travel the world and come and go as she pleases. Their L&D structure (if I can even call it that) leaves zero room for error or growth, creating an atmosphere of fear and anxiety. To make matters worse, the training was absurdly overcomplicated and completely useless, given that managers don’t follow the same processes they preach. Not to mention, their office has been under repair for months and they outwardly lied about their return during the interview process - which meant working in a dingy, loud, and outdated office that was an absolute dread to return to day after day. If you value your sanity, avoid this company—ESPECIALLY anything under Life Sciences. They're a nightmare of inconsistent standards, punitive management, and an outright hostile work culture. The absurdly clear lack of diversity is truly the cherry on top. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.
