Pros
The department I work for has much improved over the last three or four years. Immediate manager tends to micromanage a bit, but is fair for the most part. Our department head is in their own world for the most part.
Cons
Corporate is very top heavy with created positions. This is where most of the big money is made. However, many lower-level positions in the field or at manufacturing locations remain open or are left unfilled due to "budgetary constraints". Very difficult to get a raise over 2%; 4% is the max. Without getting a promotion, I'm not sure what you would have to do to get such a whopping increase. Lately the company have been picking off older workers under the pretense of downsizing. For a corporation that talks about culture, values and employee morale so much, it's hard to understand how they don't see the negative impact of doing this. Everyone gets older. Just don't get older around here.
