Pros

You will serve many people.

Cons

The work is not hard but anyone with a management title will make your work experience traumatic. They present themselves as caring and passionate however after being in the organization, the managers lack empathy, concern, and the leadership is extremely POOR!!! How do you work in a place were people have experienced trauma, and you write up the employees who show up to do the work that are dedicated to the people? The so called "management" treat other people like crap. I watched over 13 people resign in the 2018/2019. The middle management is abusive. I watched so many people exit and management not say one word. The managers in this space SUCK. They only care about lining their pockets. How do you put a 24 year in a position or authority that has NO LIFE EXPERIENCE. what a joke!!!! They use bullying, oppression and write ups as a scare tactic. . I've watched them put people out on the street for nothing. They need to be investigated in a serious way. They only serve who that want to serve. RUN!!!!!

Pros

Good trainings offered, rewarding job serving residents.

Cons

Incompetent leadership. Victim service staff get promoted after fraternizing with managers. Victim services leadership do not have the skills to manage. They micro manage their employees while they have no accountability themselves.

Pros

Clients receive a bed and food.

Cons

Staff is abusive to the clients. They talk to the clients as though they were children. Their demeaner is one of superiority and their tone is hateful. The clients problems are not addressed. Programs they claim to offer do not exist and the help they need such as life skills, job training, and affordable housing, are left to the clients to figure out for themselves. Most of them will end up back in a shelter. Donors beware!
