Pros

Fantastic benefits for full-time employees including healthcare coverage, casual dress, employee discount (oh don't be fooled, the company will still make close to 10-30% margin even with the employee discount). And GREAT people continue to work here so you are surrounded (for the most part) with wonderful co-workers.

Cons

Micromanagement that starts from the very top and goes all the way down. No innovation allowed for anyone under Sr. Leadership level. Completely secret (you can be fired for sharing your salary with a co-worker) salaries allows people to be taken advantage of and continue to underpay great talent - even within the same department and same title. Someone with no education can make a solid $15K more working in the store than someone starting in the corporate office with a college degree.

Pros

The Company attracts many great people because of their unique philosophies and guiding principles. They pay is good for a retail job.

Cons

After working in multiple stores over years experience has shown time and time again this company does not stand for they things it says - like treating their employees right assuming the best in people, managing with grace of authority etc. They use their guiding principles to manipulate their employees. Especially with part timers constantly dangling carrots in front of you stringing you on to make full time. Once you figure out whats going on they just stop giving you hours other than making you unload the truck at 5am.

Pros

Co-workers are educated and interesting Higher than average retail pay Benefits for part-time retail better than average

Cons

You are expected to arrange your entire life around the store-if you want to be liked & respected. They would prefer you to be available 5am until 12:30am,7 days a week. Very high pressure sales for a sales position with no commission. Management is quite incompetent & often less knowledgeable than many of the part time employees. Management likes to delegate, but not get involved-if possible. When they do get involved, they micro-manage, which hurts more than it helps. Good employees have been forced out, because of petty Manager dislikes. Favoritism is VERY obvious.
