Pros

-The pay is extraordinary. I actually was a "primetimer" and a seasonal one, at that, so my pay was only 11 an hour. I found out full timers and other part-timers ran anywhere from $12-25 an hour. -The uniform is nice and flexible. No horrible hats, polos or ugly shoes required. However, you pay for all your shirts and they were expensive. -The job is fairly easy, especially if you like to sell. -The company offers a LOT of training, so even if you know absolutely nothing about anything, you will at least pass as someone who is equipped by the time you hit the floor.

Cons

-The people who work here full-time are definitely a certain breed and tend to be a little overzealous, cultlike and frankly, a little creepy. -The culture can be super campy and unnecessary, such as pre-work "huddles", bingo games to get you to learn and bond, coworkers that are so cheerful it makes your headache. Seems fake and unnatural a lot of the time. Something you need to experience to truly understand. -I found a lot of the training to be over the top (5 hours of learning about ELFA closet measurements and other information you won't possibly retain, for example) -If you are a register sales person, good luck. You are required to "capture" every customers e-mail, every transaction, and are closely watched for your percentages. You WILL be called out if you suck. Expect to lie to customers and tell them it's "not for marketing, but it's for return purposes!". Also have to ask for their zipcode and phone number. Many customers get bristly and find it invasive. It's a nuisance doing things to people you personally know you would find annoying, but an otherwise easy and sometimes fun role.

Pros

Its a job and most people with who you work are great..

Cons

The original culture has been lost. So called conscious capitalism is a platitude uttered by the CEO to justify pretty standard business shenanigans. prattled on about their love for their employees as long as they can exploit the PR. , meanwhile I watched them cut P/T employees hours to the point where they had to leave. The next week they were hiring new employees. This practice was referred to as" managing out "

Pros

40% discount flexible hours Fond memories of the way it used to be.

Cons

Trained and encouraged to help customers and understaffed so we aren't able to use our training. Steady decline in practicing the principles the company gives lip service to. Not as much fun as the job used to be. Hiring Management from outside the company. Managers work under too much pressure and team members feel it. Employees first---NOT. Embarrassing Tag line because it is obviously not true. Impossible standards. They don't pay 50% over other retail stores as they claim they do. Company has sold out.
