Pros

Met some good people with whom i remain friends

Cons

This company is a fraud. They care about their image, but do nothing to earn it. They pay slightly better than average for retail but have unreasonable expectations in return. You can never get two weekend days off in a row, getting a schedule change is nearly impossible, getting your schedule on time was nearly impossible, the managers were simply the biggest butt kissers, they don't care about their employees. They are constantly getting sued for labor violations. I was there for many many years, and I can't remember ever seeing a single person getting a 10-minute break. Their alleged benefits are horrible. My wife and I got a much better deal from a private insurance broker. New employees would come up to me crying, asking why this job wasn't what it says it was, and are they not understanding something. when I first got there, I thought I had landed my dream job, but within a month it was apparent that I was gravely mistaken. It got worse year by year. I can't imagine what people who work there right now are dealing with. Avoid at all costs!

Company Culture dying

Pros

phenomenal talent, team and goal oriented coworkers, best closet solutions in the industry

Cons

mid management and executives suffer from group think so employees hear the same robotic cheerleading that lacks authenticity, CEO lacks vision and support of employee first culture allowing ineffective executives to get too comfortable, foundation principles have all been compromised, payroll cannot support sales expectations with employees spread too thin over the past several years, which isn't sustainable. The same feedback from stores has been received for years without meaningful action steps being taken. The area director only visits a few times a year and is never on the sales floor supporting employees who are actively selling. Replace these roles with more payroll dedicated to each store who can support sales. Culture has become profit versus people driven and the results are evident.

Austin Store Cuts Training - Leads to Issues

Business Outlook

Pros

Staff work hard to keep morale up which is fading fast.

Cons

Training has been drastically cut in this market, which was not a company wide direction. This had a negative impact on new hires as they aren't prepared for their roles and current staff stepping in a fill the gaps the training would have covered. This coupled with reduced payroll is a disaster. Long lines, unhappy customers, and unhappy staff.
