Pros

The people make it worth going to work everyday! That is one thing that they didn't lie about the people are great!

Cons

All they do is lie about what is going on with the company. You never know who to trust. For people of color they are seen as less then and not capable of doing certain jobs.

Pros

Employee discounts. Great team. Flexibility with hours/shifts. Decent benefits.

Cons

Staggered days off. Scheduling time off is difficult (business needs come first). Culture has completely changed since going public.

One big fat LIE

Pros

Most of the people are great and I've made lifelong friends!

Cons

TCS is too scared to admit they are no longer the store they once were. They still say over and over that they are focused on their employees and the rest of their foundation principles. However, the store has clearly gone in a different direction. Yes, change is hard, but you are now like any other retail store! Stop saying you are still the same Container Store everyone loves. Managers are too afraid to tell customers 'no', but they have no problem telling the employees that they were too lenient with the customers. Open positions aren't made public knowledge, it is all a secret. Suddenly, you have a new manager and no one else was given a chance. Part time employees are asked repeatedly to open their availability, yet they only get one shift a week. Maybe that is fine for the people who don't rely on the job to pay their bills. Store meetings are a joke. The same information is shared at every meeting and somehow TCS Closets is going to make the company all of the money they need. Raises were put on hold and it is hard to hire people, when no one is applying. Overall, TCS has changed and not for the better.
