great for a retail job if you can ignore the cult aspects
Pros
management has open communication corporate shares information [ less so since IPO however] very good extensive ongoing training programs fun environment good pay for retail hard to not get a pay raise every year lots of feedback on performance great discount casual work uniform
Cons
it's a very physical job, even when you are in sales like most places: it depends on the local management team and your co-workers. A few bad apples can ruin it for everybody. a bit too "cult like" and forced happiness. way too much micro-managing [the company was not like this when I started many years ago] If you are hiring "the best of the best" etc then why do you treat people like they are in High School? Slowly every bit of "creativity" is being taken away in the Elfa Design process [we simply input info into a program and it spits out a "design"] The IS department seems to be entrenched and I have never worked for a company that has had as many computer software and network issues as this one. Keeps adding functions to the store and computer networks and systems cannot keep up [always going "off line" etc] customer service is going way down due to not enough staff to keep up with all the new added "services" we are providing
